LUXURY BEACH HOTEL: Marriott’s OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dunes
We have stayed in Myrtle Beach before now and this is our 5th time. Other times have been okay but hardly much to write home about. Our stay at the Marriott however was different to the extent I decided to write a brief review.
I won’t write a long review since other travelers have covered that but I wanted to throw our log on the 5 star fire. The beach is wide and clean, the rooms are large and nicely furnished, the pools are great, etc. etc. Our only complaint is that there isn’t decent on-property dining.
Whenever we’ve stayed elsewhere in SC we’ve been disappointed. This year we couldn’t get the week we wanted so we tried the Anderson and it isn’t in the same class at all. That’s why I’m writing this review, to help readers recognize the difference.

We are owners at Oceanwatch, and this was our first summer traveling with 2 little kids (12 months and 2 1/2). The addition of the Woodsy pool was amazing, and as always the service and amenities were wonderful. My 2 1/2 year old had a blast at all the activities and in the playroom and loved the beach and pools. We used one of the nanny services offered this year- [--] We had the nanny come by one night just for two hours while we went next door to the Marriott hotel for drinks. She was SO sweet and we were very happy with her. We hired her for Friday night and went out to dinner- we couldn’t have been more pleased. Now we know next year we have a built in nanny service!! The Marriott will not endorse the service, but as an owner I am happy to give them a big thumbs up!! can’t wait for next summer…
